What to know before booking stand-alone sessions or instructor dives with their students
TIME LINE
60 minutes before | Check in and check patent.
40 minutes before | Access locker room with pool slippers.
20 minutes before | Attend safety briefing.
15 minutes before | Prepare equipment, shower before entering the water, use only ladders to enter and exit the water.
80 minuti dopo | At the acoustic signal, return the rented equipment and collect the document.
85 minuti dopo | End of dive. Exit the water using the stairs. Respect the entry and exit times.
SCUBA DIVE SESSION: 45 minutes
00 Scuba dive session start
40 minutes after | Safety stop. At the acoustic signal reach -5m and stop there for 3 minutes.
45 minuti dopo | End of dive. Exit the water using the stairs. Disassemble the equipment. Respect the entry and exit times.

DIVE CERTIFICATION
A freediving/diving license is required for related activities, except for first-time participants or 1st level course participants who dive with the instructor.
Instructor is required: freediving/diving instructor’s license for related activities, diving insurance for teaching, medical certificate, and to be in active teaching status for their teaching organization.
BUDDY SYSTEM
Buddy system in independently organized activities is mandatory between certified freedivers/divers (minimum two people) or with the instructor or under his or her close supervision.
MAX DEPTH
The maximum depth allowed to certified freedivers and divers is that of the lower level of the pair.
During instruction, the student may reach additional depths beyond the patent limit only if in the presence of the instructor and in any case not beyond the limit of the next patent.
If the maximum depth of the patent is not indicated, the depth indicated as the minimum should be taken as a reference.
Tickets with depth at -12m, reduced use of the water space is allowed, limiting activities to the area with a bottom that does not exceed -12m.
Freedivers are not allowed to perform static apnea or stand on the bottom beyond -15m depth.
Divers may only conduct recreational diving within the safety curve. No Deco.
MEDICAL CERTIFICATION
For dives organized independently and/or organized by one’s own instructor, a medical certificate is not required.
Instructor is required: freediving/diving instructor license, for related activities, diving insurance for teaching, medical certificate and to be in active teaching status for own teaching organization.
FREEDIVE / SCUBA DIVE COMPUTER
A freedive/scuba dive computer is mandatory for every freediver/diver, regardless of the depth reached. Each participant must have their own dive computer whose depth, time and dive data must be able to be read by the tank staff.
LANYARD
To access the well, the lanyard is mandatory regardless of the depth reached. Each freediver can have their own or share it with their dive buddy or instructor. The partner carrying out assistance activities can dive without a lanyard, reaching a maximum depth of 1/3 compared to the depth of the partner who was performing the dive. The instructor providing assistance can dive without a lanyard and without depth limits.
FREEDIVE EQUIPMENT
For free diving: free rental with deposited identity document for plastic or carbon fins and monofins (subject to limited availability).
What to bring: certification, mask, snorkel, apnea computer, lanyard, fins and/or monofin, costume, bathrobe, slippers and padlock. (Wetsuit and cap not mandatory). Own equipment is allowed, carefully washed and sanitized. The equipment must be put on and taken off on the platform at -1.3m. It is forbidden to walk around the edge of the pool with equipment on. Do not remove your equipment while diving unless authorized by your instructor.
SCUBA DIVE EQUIPMENT
For scuba diving: free rental of fins, BCD/jacket, tank, regulator.
What to bring: certification, mask, dive computer, costume, bathrobe, slippers and padlock. (Wetsuit and cap not mandatory). The equipment must be put on and taken off on the platform at -1.3m. It is forbidden to walk around the edge of the pool with equipment on. Do not remove your equipment while diving unless authorized by your instructor
PAID RENTAL
Paid rental with identity document as a deposit for: mask, computer (subject to limited availability).
It is possible to purchase in the Y-40® Shop: lanyard, swimsuit, towel, slippers, padlock (subject to limited availability).
CAVES
For freedivers it is forbidden to enter the caves such a maneuver is to be considered very dangerous.
For divers, the caves are accessible. For entry into the submerged tunnel (80 cm in diameter by 10 meters in length), access is restricted only to those with the appropriate certification (cavern, cave or equivalent) or those accompanied by an instructor
LOCKER ROOM
Locker room: in Y-40® the use of locker rooms, showers, hair dryers and lockers is free of charge. Lockers, in order to be locked, require a padlock. You can bring your own padlock or you can purchase it at Y-40®.
