Y-40® Studios is an underwater space that has the dimensions of a cinematographic set, in which photo shootings, videos, events and advertising campaigns can be realized. Our group of consultants and operators will support your own creative team in order to shape together your idea in Y-40® or at the sea.
The difference is in the water
Y-40® Studios is filled with crystal clear thermal water, with a constant temperature of 33°C (91°F). This trait gives the opportunity to work in immersion for several hours, or even days, in a comfortable environment for talents and divers.
Depth designed for cinema
The underwater architecture is provided with platforms at different levels of depth, from -1.3 metre (-1.4yd) to -42 metres (-46yd) deep. The broad underwater space allows to drop in the water set designs and backdrops of big dimensions, so that shootings and videos can be made with a depth of focus that reaches up to 20 metres (22yd).
Rigging that reaches the deep
Pool deck and celeing can be equipped with windups, trusses, lights and backdrops of any kind, thanks to the beams with carriages and hoists that can lift heavy weights, up to a ton, down to the bottom of the pool.
Controlled natural light access
The pool deck is provided with wide, 3 metre (3.3yd) high windows that can be obscured, choosing, even during daylight, the best graduation of natural or artificial lighting for your project.
24/7 Operation and reserved areas
Y-40® Studios opens all year long, day and night.
Exclusive rental is available either for the entire Y-40® pool or for parts of it, splitting the underwater or pool deck space to limit the access for unauthorized people.
Surface-to-underwater coordination
Direction, production and clients can follow the underwater job directly from the pool deck, through the support of monitors and audio connection, which allows bidirectional communication between surface and underwater operators. It is also possible to play music thanks to the underwater sound system, audible everywhere in the pool by the talents.
Talent-ready underwater specialists
Y-40® Team is made up of professional scuba and freediving instructors and safeties, who are able to support talents with no underwater experience, through lessons that are specifically dedicated to the realization of underwater scenes.
References of photographers, videomakers, DoP and underwater directors are available, with their own equipment or with the necessary skills to use any kind of camera, when requested.
Y-40® can also propose talents who already have confidence in the water, in case they have not already been chosen by the production.
From offices to studios: ready for action
Halls and rooms of different dimensions are available, in the pool deck and on the ground floor, in order to arrange offices for production, make-up and hairdressing, dressmaking or traditional recording studios.
Your Production, fully supported
Y-40® supports the production upon request, working closely throughout all stages of research, proposal and provision of truss, lighting, backdrops, props, workforce, tailors, make-up, hairdressers, talents, photographers, videomakers, DJs, musicians.
Accommodation and catering for your Crew
Y-40® is located inside the park of the Hotel Terme Millepini, in which 100 hotel rooms can provide accommodation with a price agreement.
The Hotel restaurant guarantees lunch and dinner, also with previously agreed menus, while our Y-40® bar-bistrot can provide craft service at any time of the day and the night. Stay and dine without leaving set.
