Intro
Y-40® Freediver Padi® freediving course is the first step towards becoming a certified freediver. You will start in shallow water becoming familiar with the freediving equipment and learn to hold your breath while relaxing your body at the surface. Subsequently you will dive to depth without equipmment (free immersion) and with equipment (constant weight).
Maximum depth: -16m (for people from 15 to 17 years old max -15 metres)
Lessons: 6 lessons: theory + dives in Y-40®
Thermal water: 32-34°C

Requirements
Pre-requisites: no previous experience is required, no certification is required. Basic swimming knowledge is sufficient.
Minimum age: 15 years old

Medical certificate: non-competitive medical certificate with ECG (electrocardiogram) or a medical certificate of fitness for diving is mandatory.

The Freediver Padi course is the first step to become a freediver.
You will start in shallow water with breathing techniques and static and dynamic apnea tests, to then move on to deep experiences, in free immersion and constant weight.
The Freediver certification certifies the ability to hold your breath in static apnea for at least 1’30”, to travel in horizontal dynamic apnea for at least 25m underwater and to descend to a depth of -10 to -16 meters (if you are under 18 your maximum depth will be -15 metres).
Once you have met the course requirements you will receive the Freediver Padi e-card which qualifies you to dive down to -16m. This certification in digital format, which you will find within the Padi App, is recognized throughout the world.
The Y-40® Freediver PADI® freediving course includes theoretical development of the principles of freediving thanks to the lessons held by the Y-40® instructor and independent study with the PADI® Freediver Touch™ digital teaching material.
You will learn to:
Know the freediving equipment and its correct use.
Practice breathing and relaxation techniques.
Feel comfortable underwater.
Compensate for the water pressure on your ears.
Hold your breath while relaxing your body in static apnea.
Kick effectively horizontally in dynamic apnea.
Descend to depth with fins in constant position and with your arms on the cable in free immersion.
