We only provide the monofin, you can bring your own lycra tail to be placed over the monofin.

Requirements
Pre-requisites: No previous experience is required and a certification is not required. Basic swimming skills are sufficient.

It is mandatory to dive while following the instructor’s instructions, who is present to ensure safety during the session.
Planned first experience
Book for yourself or for multiple people during the times offered by Y-40®. The time slot is available for up to 5 participants. You will share the dive with other people, all beginners, and guided by a Y-40® instructor.

Y-40® Become a mermaid or a merman is a first freediving experience using the monofin in thermal water, for which no previous experience is necessary, designed for those who do not have a certification.
This group experience offers a fun and unusual approach to water and freediving.
It’s designed for adults who have dreamed at least once in their lives of transforming into a mermaid or a merman and diving with a tail or monofin like these mythological sea creatures.
A professional Y-40® instructor, expert in mermaiding, will guide them.
No certification or prior experience in freediving or mermaiding is required, but you will need to be able to stay afloat and not fear the water.
You will then be able to move easily in the shallow part of Y-40® (-1.30 m) and then reach the depth of the tunnel that runs through Y-40®, over 2 meters, to greet family and friends.
This is an introductory lesson to breath-holding monofin diving. You will not receive a certification, but rather a certificate of participation.
We provide the freediving equipment: monofin, mask, and snorkel.
You’ll only need to bring: a swimsuit, bathrobe, pool slippers, and a locker. You can bring your own Lycra mermaid tail to wear over your monofin.
