Deep Research Indoor
An Apnea Academy Research project in Y-40® Open Lab
AWARD Project Apnea Wet vs Apnea Related Dry
FRIDAY 13 FEBRUARY 2026
During the 11:00 – 16:00 sessions,
those who freedive can take the test, which will begin one hour before the dive and will require an additional half hour of availability at the end of the dive.
The project will investigate the response to hypoxic stimuli in different conditions in well-trained freedivers, collecting data on the direct comparison between exposure to dry freediving and real diving conditions with a scientific protocol aimed at studying the physiological responses to freediving in subjects exposed to the two different conditions, also investigating possible early markers of freediving pathologies.
If you are interested in participating in the tests, book your session in the water directly at www.y-40.com and write to Apnea Academy Research at cialonid@gmail.com to take part in the research.
The following tests will be performed: electrocardiogram, spirometry, blood saturation test, blood sampling (optional), cardiac and pulmonary ultrasound.
Volunteer freedivers will contribute to the research and receive a report with the results of the test.
